ENERGY SECURITY INDEX FOR G20 MEMBERS BASED ON THREE DIMENSIONS: HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT, AND DIVERSITY
Keywords:

G20 members are the strongest economies of the world and thus represent global important features and trends of the energy security. Since energy security is an important concept in global settings of energy systems, numerical measures are needed in order to represent the circumstances with meaningful numbers. Therefore, this study aims to conceptually and methodologically construct an energy security (ES indexH,E,D) index based on three dimensions: Health, Environment, and Diversity, with an application on the G20 members. The results clearly show how this index is constructed and show its application on the G20 members. The conclusions provide policymakers with an opportunity to adopt this index in their analysis of energy security, as it gives insights about energy systems and how to achieve higher energy security. For example, adopting clean renewable energy technologies to reduce the death rate attributed to cancer and to reduce GHG emissions are among the recommendations.
