Abstract

This study provides an integrated analysis of entrepreneurial orientation and innovation choices within enterprises, focusing on the role of enterprise competence as a mediating factor. Drawing upon insights from entrepreneurship, innovation management, and strategic management literature, the research examines how entrepreneurial orientation – characterized by proactiveness, risk-taking, and innovativeness – influences the types and trajectories of innovation pursued by firms. Furthermore, the study explores the mediating role of enterprise competence, encompassing organizational capabilities, resources, and knowledge assets, in translating entrepreneurial orientation into effective innovation choices. Through a synthesis of theoretical frameworks and empirical evidence, the research elucidates the mechanisms through which entrepreneurial orientation shapes innovation strategies, and how enterprise competence moderates this relationship. By integrating research across disciplines, this study aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the complex interplay between entrepreneurial orientation, innovation choices, and enterprise competence, offering insights for practitioners and policymakers seeking to foster a more innovation-driven entrepreneurial culture.
