Abstract

This study investigates the patterns of enterprise patenting and the factors influencing patenting behavior based on a survey conducted in Zhejiang province, China. Utilizing survey data collected from a representative sample of enterprises in Zhejiang, the research examines the prevalence and characteristics of patenting activities among firms in various industries and sectors. Furthermore, the study analyzes the factors that influence firms' decisions to engage in patenting activities, including firm size, industry type, R&D investment, innovation capabilities, intellectual property protection strategies, and government support policies. Through quantitative analysis and statistical modeling, the research identifies key determinants of enterprise patenting and explores their implications for innovation, competitiveness, and economic development in Zhejiang province. By providing insights into the drivers and barriers to patenting among enterprises in a dynamic regional economy like Zhejiang, this study contributes to a deeper understanding of the innovation ecosystem and offers practical implications for policymakers, industry practitioners, and researchers.
