Evaluation Method and Application of Regional Innovation Capability: Analysis Based on Individual Advantage Characteristics

Abstract

This paper proposes an evaluation method for assessing regional innovation capability, leveraging the analysis of individual advantage characteristics within the region. Regional innovation capability plays a pivotal role in driving economic growth, technological advancement, and sustainable development. Drawing upon insights from innovation studies, economic geography, and regional development literature, this study develops a comprehensive framework that considers both quantitative indicators and qualitative factors to assess the innovation potential and performance of a region. The proposed evaluation method incorporates measures of human capital, research and development infrastructure, industry collaboration, entrepreneurship ecosystem, and policy environment, among other dimensions. Moreover, the analysis incorporates an examination of individual advantage characteristics unique to the region, such as local knowledge clusters, cultural heritage, natural resources, and institutional strengths. Through empirical application and case studies, the paper demonstrates the utility and effectiveness of the evaluation method in identifying regional strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats related to innovation capability.
