This study presents an empirical investigation into the model of discipline construction within our university, utilizing a three-dimensional coordinate system for comprehensive analysis. Recognizing the multifaceted nature of discipline development, this research integrates three key dimensions: academic depth, interdisciplinary integration, and societal relevance. Through a mixed-methods approach encompassing surveys, interviews, and document analysis, this study examines the current status and trajectory of discipline construction within our university, mapping the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and challenges across each dimension. By leveraging quantitative metrics and qualitative insights, this research identifies patterns and trends in disciplinary development, highlighting areas of alignment and divergence with institutional goals and external demands. Moreover, this study explores the interplay between disciplinary specialization, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and societal impact, elucidating the mechanisms through which disciplinary configurations influence educational quality, research excellence, and societal contributions. The findings contribute to both theoretical understanding and practical implications by offering a systematic framework for assessing and optimizing university discipline construction strategies, facilitating informed decision-making and resource allocation to enhance academic competitiveness and societal relevance.
