Abstract

This empirical study explores the complex interplay between intra-team network centrality, network quality, and the success of knowledge transfer within organizations. Leveraging social network analysis techniques and survey data from diverse teams across multiple industries, we investigate how the centrality of individuals within intra-team networks and the quality of those networks influence the effectiveness of knowledge transfer processes. By examining both structural and relational aspects of team interactions, we assess the impact of centrality metrics such as degree, betweenness, and closeness on the quality of information exchange and collaborative learning outcomes. Furthermore, we delve into the nuanced dimensions of network quality, including trust, communication openness, and information sharing reciprocity, to elucidate their role in facilitating successful knowledge transfer. Our findings provide empirical evidence of the intricate relationship between network characteristics and knowledge transfer success, highlighting the importance of fostering cohesive and high-quality intra-team networks to enhance organizational learning and innovation capabilities
