Abstract

This study employs a decomposition model to investigate the influence of energy consumption and technical progress on economic growth in Jiangsu Province, China. By disaggregating the components of economic growth, energy consumption, and technological progress, this research seeks to provide a nuanced understanding of the dynamics driving economic development in the region. Utilizing time-series data and econometric techniques, we examine the direct and indirect effects of energy consumption and technical progress on the provincial economy. Moreover, we explore potential interactions and feedback loops between these factors to elucidate their combined impact on economic growth. Findings from this study contribute to the empirical literature on the relationship between energy, technology, and economic development, offering insights that can inform policy interventions aimed at promoting sustainable and inclusive growth in Jiangsu Province and beyond.
