Abstract

This research investigates the intricate relationship among relational capital, inter-organizational communication, and innovative performance within organizational contexts. Drawing upon social capital theory and communication studies, we develop a conceptual framework to analyze how relational capital, manifested through trust, shared norms, and mutual obligations, influences the effectiveness of inter-organizational communication processes in fostering innovation. Through empirical analysis using survey data from a sample of organizations, we examine the mediating role of inter-organizational communication in translating relational capital into innovative performance outcomes. Furthermore, we explore the moderating effects of contextual factors such as industry dynamics, network structure, and organizational culture on this relationship. The findings of this study contribute to a deeper understanding of the mechanisms driving innovation in inter-organizational settings, offering practical insights for managers, policymakers, and practitioners seeking to leverage relational capital and communication strategies to enhance innovative performance.
