Abstract

This research presents an empirical investigation into how the characteristics of individuals, organizations, and contextual factors influence knowledge sharing intention. Drawing upon insights from social exchange theory and knowledge management literature, we analyze how various entry characteristics such as individual expertise, organizational culture, trust, and perceived benefits affect individuals' willingness to share knowledge within organizational settings. Through a mixed-methods approach combining surveys and interviews, we explore the mechanisms through which these entry characteristics interact to shape knowledge sharing behaviors. Additionally, we investigate the moderating effects of organizational climate, leadership support, and technological infrastructure on the relationship between entry characteristics and knowledge sharing intention. The findings of this study provide valuable insights for practitioners and managers seeking to design interventions and strategies to promote a culture of knowledge sharing and collaboration within organizations.
