Abstract

This research investigates the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation (EO) and university spin-off performance, with a focus on the role of resource support provided to academic entrepreneurs. Drawing upon theories of entrepreneurship, organizational behavior, and resource-based view, this study examines how entrepreneurial orientation, characterized by innovative, proactive, and risk-taking behaviors, influences the performance of university spin-offs. Moreover, this research explores the moderating effect of resource support, including financial, human, and social capital, on the relationship between EO and spin-off performance. Through quantitative analysis of survey data collected from academic entrepreneurs involved in university spin-offs, this study identifies key dimensions of entrepreneurial orientation, resource support mechanisms, and performance outcomes. The findings offer insights into the conditions under which entrepreneurial orientation contributes to the success of university spin-offs, and the importance of resource support in leveraging entrepreneurial behaviors for achieving superior performance. This research contributes to the literature on entrepreneurship and university spin-offs by providing empirical evidence and theoretical insights into the mechanisms driving their success.
