Abstract

This research delves into the dynamics of network evolution driving embedded industrial upgrading, focusing on the electric tool industry in TianFen. Employing a mixed-methods approach combining qualitative case study analysis and network analysis techniques, the study explores how interorganizational networks evolve over time to facilitate technological innovation, knowledge exchange, and capability development within the local industrial ecosystem. Drawing upon insights from industrial upgrading literature, network theory, and regional development studies, the research investigates the formation, structure, and governance mechanisms of interfirm networks in TianFen's electric tool industry. It examines the role of key actors, including firms, government agencies, research institutions, and industry associations, in shaping network dynamics and promoting collaborative initiatives aimed at enhancing industry competitiveness and sustainability. Moreover, the study analyzes the impact of external factors such as market trends, policy interventions, and technological advancements on network evolution and industrial upgrading trajectories. By providing empirical insights into the network dynamics of embedded industrial upgrading, this research offers practical implications for policymakers, industry practitioners, and regional stakeholders seeking to foster innovation-driven growth and resilience in TianFen's electric tool industry and beyond.
