Abstract

This empirical research investigates the relationship between copyright protection measures and software piracy rates across 56 sample countries. Utilizing a quantitative research methodology, the study analyzes data on copyright laws, enforcement mechanisms, and software piracy rates to examine the effectiveness of copyright protection in deterring unauthorized copying and distribution of software. Through statistical analysis, including regression modeling and correlation analysis, the research seeks to identify significant factors influencing software piracy rates, including the strength of copyright laws, enforcement efforts, economic factors, and cultural attitudes towards intellectual property rights. The findings provide insights into the complex interactions between legal frameworks, enforcement strategies, and socio-economic factors in shaping the prevalence of software piracy across different countries. Additionally, the research explores policy implications for policymakers, industry stakeholders, and international organizations seeking to combat software piracy and promote effective copyright protection measures worldwide.
