This paper presents an exploratory study examining the characteristics of entrepreneurial opportunities and the selection of new venture strategies, focusing on entrepreneurship cases in China. Through a qualitative analysis of multiple case studies of successful and failed ventures, the research aims to identify key characteristics of entrepreneurial opportunities that influence the choice of venture strategy. The study explores factors such as market dynamics, technological advancements, regulatory environments, and competitive landscapes that shape the identification and evaluation of entrepreneurial opportunities in the Chinese context. Additionally, the research investigates how entrepreneurs assess and select appropriate strategies, including market entry strategies, product/service differentiation, business model innovation, and resource allocation decisions, to capitalize on identified opportunities. By offering insights into the interplay between entrepreneurial opportunity characteristics and venture strategy selection, this study contributes to advancing understanding of entrepreneurship dynamics in China and provides practical implications for entrepreneurs, policymakers, and investors seeking to navigate the complex entrepreneurial landscape.
