Abstract

African American Literature is made up of the literary works written in English by the writers of African origin living in America. However, both African American history and the life of African Americans are extremely varied. Similarly, African American literature is also diverse in nature and content. It has mainly focused on themes of particular interest to the Blacks in America and their American roles within the larger American society.
