Abstract

The development of solar-powered EV charging solutions has increased due to the shift to sustainable energy sources. This research offers a novel solar-powered electric vehicle (EV) charging system that combines an intelligent battery management system (BMS) with a Single-Ended Primary-Inductor Converter (SEPIC) and Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT). With the use of an MPPT algorithm and a SEPIC converter, photovoltaic (PV) panels can gather energy more efficiently and consistently, even in variable sunlight circumstances. In order to maximize the lifespan of the battery and safety, the intelligent BMS monitors and controls the battery's state of charge (SOC), voltage, current, charging, and discharging level. The proposed approach provides an effective and environmentally friendly way to charge electric vehicles, lowering greenhouse gas emissions and encouraging the use of renewable energy sources. The outcomes of the simulation show the ability of the intelligent BMS and SEPIC converter with MPPT maintain ideal power levels and guarantee secure and dependable battery operation. This study emphasizes how sophisticated management systems and cutting-edge power electronics can be combined to create reliable solar-powered EV charging infrastructures.
