Abstract

This study examines the prevalence and causes of common injuries among male and female inter-university volleyball players, focusing on age, movement patterns, and gender differences. Data were collected through surveys and observational analysis during competitions. The findings highlight the high incidence of overuse injuries, such as shoulder tendinitis and jumper’s knee, as well as acute injuries like ankle sprains. Female players demonstrated a higher risk of ligament-related injuries due to biomechanical and hormonal factors, while males experienced more power-induced injuries. The study underscores the need for targeted injury prevention strategies, including strength training, technique optimization, and gender-specific rehabilitation programs.
