The kinetics of the Ethyl alcohol inhibited Cu (II) catalysed autoxidation of S (IV) in phosphate buffer medium has been studied and based on the observed results following rate has been proposed. Rate constants and the order of reaction were calculated and the reaction was found to be pseudo- first order in all. The effect of pH and temperature are also studied. The value of apparent activation (Ea) energy was calculated graphically by Arrhenius equation. Based on inhibition parameter, the reaction follows free radical mechanism.
