Abstract

Faced with the problem of the intensification of natural disasters impacts, this article addresses the contribution of emerging technologies in Disaster Risk Management (DRM), more specifically, the operationalization of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs / Drones) in Disaster Risk Reduction and management (DRR).

By presenting a bibliographic review with 40 studies that relate Drones and natural resource disasters, the text argues that the use of drones in disaster risk management is asymmetric and is underused in certain management periods.

In conclusion, it highlights the importance of the devices that allow structuring the organizational and informative aspects of the insertion of Drones in the DRM.

For that, the article is divided into three main sections: Disaster Risk Management; ICT in the DRG and drones in disasters
