“Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises” (MSMEs) are pivotal in achieving the “Sustainable Development Goals” (SDGs) by fostering economic growth, generating employment, and promoting sustainable business practices. This study explores the contributions of MSMEs in India towards SDGs, highlighting their role in poverty alleviation, gender equality, responsible production, and economic inclusivity. MSMEs drive innovation, industrialization, and entrepreneurship, particularly in rural areas, bridging socio-economic disparities and improving livelihoods. However, they encounter obstacles such as limited access to finance, regulatory constraints, weak enforcement of environmental and labour laws, and legal barriers to international trade. Addressing these challenges requires policy reforms, financial assistance, and regulatory simplification to enhance their sustainability and competitiveness. This research utilizes secondary data from government reports, international organizations, and scholarly sources to assess MSMEs' alignment with SDGs. The findings underscore the need for stronger institutional frameworks, increased legal awareness, and financial inclusion to maximize MSMEs' contribution to sustainable development. The study concludes with recommendations to enhance MSME efficiency and their role in achieving global sustainability targets.
