Abstract

Ischemic heart complaint, or IHD, is among the world's major causes of mortality and morbidity and is projected to affect in an estimated 8.6 million deaths worldwide each time (World Health Organization, 2019). IHD refers to compromised cardiac muscle perfusion and results in heart failure, casket pain, and cardiovascular circumstances. We conducted this prospective study to estimate the impact of pharmaceutical care on drug adherence, clinical issues, and quality of life in cases with ischemic heart disease. The exploration was carried out in a tertiary care sanitarium in Erode quarter, Tamil Nadu. 100 cases were enrolled using Rao software sample size computation with 5% of error and 95% confidence interval. Data collection was done using socio- demographic questionnaire, tradition checkups, and 4- point Morisky Medication Adherence Scale (MMAS), and RAND questionnaire. The results of the study show that pharmaceutical care significantly enhances drug adherence, clinical issues, and quality of life in cases with ischemic heart complaint.
