Virtual teams have become increasingly prevalent in contemporary organizational settings, driven by advances in information and communication technologies (ICT) and the growing trend towards remote work arrangements. This paper presents a comprehensive review and analysis of virtual team studies, examining the key themes, findings, and methodological approaches employed in existing literature. Drawing upon a multidisciplinary perspective that integrates insights from organizational behavior, management science, and information systems research, the paper explores the unique challenges and opportunities associated with virtual teamwork, including issues related to communication, collaboration, coordination, and performance management.
