Abstract

The expansion of cross-border telework represents a significant advantage for both companies and their employees, playing a pivotal role in modern labour markets. The global pandemic has prompted a transformation in labour relations, accompanied by heightened digitisation and globalisation, hastening the acceptance of remote work. This underscores the need for a legal framework that protects workers' rights and supports effective remote work. The article analyzes the legal aspects of the development of cross-border telework in the EU. The novelty of the study lies in its comprehensive analysis of the EU legal framework for remote work across national borders, as well as its identification of gaps and challenges that require further attention. The article offers recommendations for harmonising legislation at the EU level and introducing common standards in order to ensure the protection of workers' rights and effective remote working.
