Waste management is an essential element of environmental sustainability, addressing both the growing concerns related to waste generation and its adverse effects on ecosystems. This research article explores the impact of various waste management practices, including waste reduction, recycling, composting, and waste-to-energy technologies, on environmental sustainability. India also confronts the issue of waste management. Although the waste management practices are put in place to lighten the load of waste, they are inadequate for achieving cleanliness. It also examines the challenges associated with the implementation of efficient waste management systems and proposes solutions to overcome these challenges. The paper emphasizes the need for integrated waste management strategies, increased public awareness, and technological advancements to reduce the negative environmental impacts of waste.
